Teen and Young Adult Drug Awareness Program and Opioid Overdose Prevention Training
We invite teens 16 years and older to this informative presentation where they will hear from East Meadow young people who have successfully battled addiction.
At this program, you will learn the signs & symptoms of an overdose, where to get help, how to use a Narcan kit, and when the naloxone can help save a life. Sign up May 14.
MOVING UP DAY…TO THE YOUNG ADULT DEPARTMENT
On THURSDAY, JUNE 21, after your moving up ceremony from Elementary School to Middle School, visit the Library because you are now a Young Adult. Bring mom and dad to get your new adult library card. Explore the Young Adult Room, sign up for the Summer Reading Program, and take a photo in our YA photobooth. This special day for new sixth graders is from 2:00 to 8:00 pm.
SUMMER READING PROGRAM
The theme of our Summer Reading Program is “Libraries Rock!”. Young adults entering grades 6-12 are invited to sign up starting June 12 in the YA Room. Participants will log their reading online and pick up prizes in person when they reach certain milestones. Pick up our summer activities booklet for our complete summer schedule.
